Rio with Tripio

**Accommodations: Arena Leme, a 4-star hotel on Copacabana Beach with double occupancy rooms offering incredible ocean views.

**Meals: A quality breakfast is included daily. Two quality, authentic Brazilian group dinners are also included. Lunches are not provided because we are on the go so much that we like to leave it up to each individual where and when they eat lunch each day. The remaining dinners not included are to give each person a chance to select a restaurant of their choosing and experience Rio in a setting outside of the large planned group meals.

**Cash/Personal Payments: USD is not accepted in Rio so don't bother bringing any cash. Getting about $50 USD worth out in BRL cash at an ATM in the airport or near hotel is suggested but honestly not necessary. Credit cards and even Apple Pay are accepted pretty much everywhere in Rio. Uber is super efficient and inexpensive for your personal free time travel.

**Health/Covid: All attendees are required to meet local health/covid protocols. It's a wild world right now and we can't control what each separate government is going to require nor what each individual will feel about that requirement, so be in-the-know here and get travel insurance if you're worried.

**Getting There: E Z P Z ;) Airport is GIG (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) with daily flights from every major airline. We suggest checking both Kayak & Google Flights to find the best rates. We also suggest a redeye in the day before checkin and a redeye out the day of checkout to maximize your time down there in Rio.

**Safety: Some of you may have heard that Rio is scary or dangerous. While it does likely have more crime than say Hawaii, a fun & safe vacation is very possible. We do it all the time. A few important safety tips: 
1) Don't go anywhere alone, especially at night.
2) Stay in the main more busy & touristy parts of town, especially at night.
3) Keep valuables hidden at the beach, on the tours, on the street, etc. This includes phones, wallets, jewelry, etc.
4) Don't be "the loud obnoxious tourist".

**How firm is the Itinerary? There are countless things to do in Rio and we'll make sure your group experiences the ones best for you! Some of the top excursions are booked in advance and are firm, but this is your trip! If there's something you don't want to participate in or something else you'd rather do, we'll help you do that! We'll stick to the itinerary for all those who want to join the main group.
