Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how SV Travel Ventures, Inc. d/b/a Tripio Travel (“Tripio Travel,”
“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. It applies to
all personal information we collect, whether through our website at www.TripioTravel.com
(the “Website”), by email, phone or registration forms, from the company or organization
that sponsors your trip (your “Sponsor”), or in person during our group trips (“Trips”).
What information do we collect?
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following information:
• Contact information: name, email address, mailing address and phone number.
• Traveler identity information: full legal name as it appears on your passport, date of
birth, gender, nationality, and passport details (number, issuing country and expiration
date).
• Travel program information: Known Traveler and Redress numbers, frequent flyer
and hotel loyalty numbers, flight details, roommate preferences, and Trip registration
and attendance status.
• Dietary, accessibility and medical needs: information you choose to share with us
so that we can make appropriate arrangements for your Trip.
• Emergency contact information: the name, relationship and phone number of the
person you ask us to contact in an emergency. Please make sure that person has
agreed to your sharing their information with us.
• Photos and video: images taken during Trips, as described in the “Photos and video”
section below.
• Payment information: payments are processed by a national third-party payment
processor. We do not store your full credit card number.
• Website usage information: information collected automatically when you visit the
Website, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed. See
“Cookies and similar technologies” below.
• Communications: messages you send us and records of our correspondence with
you.
We collect this information directly from you; from your Sponsor (for example, the names
and contact details of employees or sales representatives who qualified for a Trip); from
our travel suppliers (for example, flight confirmations); and automatically when you visit
the Website.
How do we use your information?
• To plan, book and operate your Trip, including air travel, accommodations, transfers,
activities and excursions.
• To meet airline and government security requirements, such as the TSA Secure Flight
program and customs and immigration rules.
• To accommodate dietary, accessibility and medical needs you share with us.
• To contact you, or your emergency contact, before or during a Trip, including in an
emergency.
• To process payments.
• To send you information about your Trip.
• To send you marketing emails, such as newsletters, promotions and announcements of
upcoming Trips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To promote Trips using photos and video, as described below and in our Terms and
Conditions.
• To understand how visitors use the Website and to improve our Website, advertising and
services.
• To show Tripio Travel ads to people who have visited our Website (retargeting), as
described under “Cookies and similar technologies.”
• To comply with the law, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and protect the rights,
property and safety of our travelers, our team and others.
How do we share your information?
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share traveler personal
information with advertisers. (Website usage information collected by the tools described
under “Cookies and similar technologies” is handled as explained in that section.) We
share personal information only as follows:
• Travel suppliers: airlines, hotels and resorts, ground transportation providers,
restaurants, excursion operators, local guides and destination management
companies, limited to the information each needs to provide its part of your Trip.
• Your Sponsor: your registration and attendance status, your itinerary and rooming
details, and Trip photos and video.
• Service providers: companies that help us run our business, such as our payment
processor and our email, website hosting, data storage and accounting providers. They
may use your information only to provide services to us and must keep it confidential.
• Government authorities: customs, immigration and security authorities, when
required by airlines or by law.
• Legal and safety reasons: when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the
law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms and Conditions, or protect the rights,
property or safety of Tripio Travel, our travelers or others.
• Business transfers: if Tripio Travel is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or
part of its business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction
and will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
• With your consent: in any other case where you have asked or agreed that we share
your information.
International processing
Our Trips take place outside the United States. To deliver your Trip, we share personal
information with suppliers in the destination countries, where data protection laws may
differ from those in the United States. Our team members and contractors may also access
personal information from locations outside the United States. In each case we share only
the information needed for the purpose described in this Privacy Policy.
Photos and video
Photos and video are taken during Trips by Tripio Travel staff, photographers or
videographers we engage, and other participants. As described in Section 7 of our Terms
and Conditions, we use these images for internal promotion of the Trip, including sharing
them with Trip participants and with your Sponsor, and on Tripio Travel’s social media
accounts. We will not publish images that could reasonably be considered embarrassing,
unflattering or compromising, we make every reasonable effort to avoid making travelers
too identifiable, and we do not name or tag travelers without their permission. If you are
uncomfortable with an image of you posted on our social media, contact us using the
information below and we will remove it within a reasonable time.
We will not post an identifiable image of a minor on social media without the written
consent of the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files that a website or its service provider places on your device through
your web browser (if you allow) so that the site can recognize your browser and remember
certain information. Our Website uses cookies and similar technologies, including:
• Google Analytics, which helps us understand how visitors use the Website.
• Meta Pixel, which helps us measure and improve our advertising on Meta platforms
such as Facebook and Instagram and show our ads to people who have visited the
Website.
• Similar tools from other advertising platforms, which we may use for the same
purposes.
Retargeting. We may use cookies and pixels to show you Tripio Travel ads on other
websites and on social media platforms after you visit our Website. This is known as
retargeting. Retargeting relies on information collected by these tools about your visits to
the Website. It does not involve us giving our traveler records, such as your email address
or Trip details, to advertisers.
These tools allow Google, Meta and other providers to collect information about your visits
to the Website directly, such as the pages you view and your device and browser
information, and their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies. You
can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, although some parts of the Website may
not work properly as a result. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google
Analytics, and you can adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram
settings. You can also limit retargeting through industry opt-out tools such as those offered
by the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Our Website does not
currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
How do we protect your information?
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal
information, and we limit access to team members and contractors who need it to do their
work. Credit card payments are processed by a national third-party payment processor,
and we never store full credit card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is
completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long do we keep your information?
We keep traveler records, including passport details and dietary, accessibility and medical
information, for seven (7) years after the end of the Trip, after which we delete or de-identify
them, unless a longer period is required by law or the records are needed to resolve a
dispute or legal claim.
Your choices and rights
• Access, correction and deletion: you may ask to review, correct or delete the
personal information we hold about you by emailing us at the address below. We may
need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We may keep information we
are required to retain by law or need for accounting, legal or safety reasons, or to
complete a Trip that is already booked, and deleting certain information may mean we
cannot arrange your Trip.
• Marketing emails: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the
link at the bottom of each email. You will continue to receive emails needed to arrange
your Trip.
• Photos: you can ask us to remove an image of you from our social media, as
described above.
Children and minors.
Our services are intended for adults. Minors occasionally travel on Trips with a parent or
legal guardian. In those cases we collect a minor’s personal information only from the
parent or guardian, who provides it and consents to its use as described in this Privacy
Policy. A parent or guardian may review, correct or ask us to delete their child’s information
by contacting us. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from
children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Marketing emails and CAN-SPAM
We send marketing emails such as newsletters, promotions and announcements of
upcoming Trips. Every marketing email identifies Tripio Travel, includes our mailing address
and an unsubscribe link, and does not use misleading subject lines. We honor unsubscribe
requests promptly.
Third-party websites and platforms
Our Website, emails and social media may link to websites and platforms operated by
others, including our travel suppliers and social media platforms. Their privacy practices
are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.
Terms and Conditions
Please also read our Terms and Conditions, which govern participation in our Trips, at
www.TripioTravel.com/Terms.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If we change this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version on the Website and
update the Effective Date above. If we make material changes, we will also notify you by
email or by a notice on the Website. Policy changes apply only to information collected
after the date of the change.
